Marion Nestle

Dianne is a real book worm! She has so many books and much of them, or at least the ones I've seen, deal with nutrition. One of the most recent authors she has shared with  me is Marion Nestle author of "Food Politics" and "what to Eat" .

      

Marion Nestle dives into the politics behind food. She comments that the USDA who developed the "Choose my plate" is not involved with nutrition. They don't care about nutrition, they care about agriculture.  She goes on further to explain the creation of the food guide and how they had to work with American Farm industries. These farm industries reacted strongly when different food groups were emphasized. Interesting.... Who knows.
