After five hours of flights, I finally made it to Normal, IL Monday. I have now finished one week of my internship, and already I have learned so much. Dianne Feasley, RD is my mentor. She is the dietitian for Illinois State University. She is a fabulous mentor and knows so much. I am very lucky to be here at ISU to learn from her.
Normal is a quaint little town. There are a lot of trees and wildlife such as abnormally large squirrels and bunnies that are everywhere. Uptown Normal has some nice little restaurants, a bajillion "pubs", museums, and my favorite an old school theater.
I am currently still in the process of exploring this area on my own two feet (I walked a total of six miles to get to a Walmart and back...yes it's true). I'll keep you updated on the new things I'm learning the 'normal' places I'm going.
